Make-up
The correct heating water quality during make-up is crucial to prevent damage and maintain warranty claims. This is ensured by VDI 2035, ÖNORM H 5195-1 and SWKI BT 102-1.
Professional make-up systems for all system sizes
For a heating or cooling system to function optimally, a sufficient amount of water must always be available. This is precisely why we have developed our Heaty Complete series, which is specially designed for use in heating systems. A reduction in the system pressure and a loss of the carrier medium to a certain extent is unavoidable. The system operator must therefore regularly top up the water and refill the heating system. With our new top-up systems from the Heaty Complete PROfessional and the Heaty Complete Advanced this can also be done fully automatically and the heating system is topped up quickly and the heating water is treated in the process.
Three parameters play a role here: system separation, water treatment and monitoring. This ensures long-term, functional and safe operation of the system. Of course, we still have our popular Heaty Complete Home series in our portfolio and make-up systems for larger heating systems. The make-up systems for heating water from UWS meet the guidelines of VDI 2035, ÖNORM H 5195-1 and SWKI BT 102-1 and protect against corrosion, scale formation and stabilize the pH value within the required range. The integrated BA system separator ensures the clean separation of drinking and heating water in accordance with EN 1717. Our PROfessional series make-up stations are also designed for filling heating systems. Depending on the size of the system, you can choose between different make-up units and filling stations for the heating system to efficiently top up the heating system.
With our pre-assembled replenishment stations, you no longer have to worry about standard-compliant treatment of the make-up water in accordance with VDI 2035. The replenishment station is simply installed in the pipe system – it then ensures consistent water quality in the heating system. The digital display with simple menu guidance makes it easy to read off all values. When the system pressure drops, the filling combination automatically begins backfeeding the system with demineralised water.
For small system sizes, we recommend our fully automatic Heaty Complete PROfessional or Advanced series. Our Heaty Complete Home and Heaty Complete Home XL are also very suitable for smaller heating systems. With the Heaty Complete Home series, used resin can be easily identified by the colour change of the mixed bed resin.

Desalinated water = full utilization of capacities! It’s a simple equation with our make-up systems, because this series enables you to achieve sustainable heating water quality with an innovative demineralization cartridge and thus maintain the efficiency of the system. How does that work? It’s simple: if the mixed bed resin is in a critical condition, an acoustic and visual alarm is triggered by the Heaty Complete PROFessional or the Heaty Complete Advanced series. In the Heaty Complete Home series, an indicator cartridge changes color to show the depletion level of the resin and thus allows conclusions to be drawn about the salt content of the water.
For medium-sized systems, we recommend our Heaty Complete PROfessional XL make-up station for heating water, Heaty Complete Advanced XL or the Heaty Complete Home Duplex with a filling capacity of 240 l/h and a capacity of up to 5,400 litres, depending on the hardness of the water. The digital display on the Heaty Complete PROfessional or Heaty Complete Advanced makes it easy to read off values such as capacity and battery charge level in order to optimise the operation and refilling of the heater. If the mixed bed resin is in a critical condition, an acoustic and visual alarm is signalled.
The Heaty Complete PROfessional XL is cloud-enabled and enables fully automatic replenishment of the heating system. This saves you considerable time when installing the filling station. Safe, simple and flexible to use, ideal for heating. All make-up stations are also available as OFK versions, i.e. without a filling combi if a system separator is already installed on site.

How does that work? It’s simple: if the mixed bed resin is in a critical condition, the Heaty Complete PROfessional or Heaty Complete Advanced series issues an audible and visual alarm. We also have solutions for the treatment of make-up water in accordance with VDI 2035 for large systems. Both our Heaty Complete Fix range and the Heaty Complete GLT range ensure consistent water quality in on-site heating systems. An LED indicates the state of depletion of the mixed bed resin.
The Heaty Complete GLT is a replenishment unit with capacity control and output of a message to the BMS. The message is issued in the event of resin depletion or issues with the measuring technology. You can conveniently set the limit value for the conductivity of the water on the display. Both ranges are also available without a filling combination if a system separator is already available on site.

With our make-up systems, you can maintain important parameters such as pH 8-10 and conductivity < 100 µs/cm. With an innovative demineralization cartridge, the Heaty Complete series for large systems enables you to achieve sustainable heating water quality and thus maintain the efficiency of the system. How does that work? Quite simply: with a controlled make-up water supply, where the depletion level of the resin is displayed via LEDs or the building management system, allowing you to draw conclusions about the salt content of the water.
FAQ - At a glance
What is a make-up unit?
Heating systems use a make-up system to compensate for the normal loss of water in the pipe systems. If the pressure in the pipe system is too low, additional water is pumped into the pipe system by the make-up system. The make-up system also ensures that the water meets the required standards.
What is the purpose of the make-up water supply for a heating system?
A professional make-up system for heating systems ensures that the water level and water quality in the system remain constant. This is partly automated using special make-up stations that compensate for water loss and maintain the efficiency of the heating system.
When do you top up the water in the heating system?
For a heating or cooling system to function optimally, a sufficient amount of water must always be available. A reduction in the system pressure and a loss of the carrier medium to a certain extent is unavoidable. The system operator must therefore regularly top up the water and refill the heating system. To do this, there are top-up systems that are operated manually or automated solutions. Automated top-up systems such as the Heaty Complete PROfessional or the Heaty Complete Advanced ensure a constant water pressure, minimize maintenance and protect the heating system from damage caused by corrosion or stone formation. They also save time and are easy to install.
Which water to fill the heater with?
The water quality is crucial for protecting the heating system against corrosion and deposits. Professional make-up systems use demineralized water and maintain important parameters such as the pH value (8-10) and conductivity (< 100 µS/cm).
