\/>\nHowever, in heating and cooling systems, this assumption is one of the biggest misconceptions.<\/p>\n<p>From a technical point of view, there is <strong>no such thing as neutral water<\/strong>.<br \/>\nDepending on its composition, it can protect systems \u2013 or gradually destroy them.<\/p>\n<p>In order to be able to assess heating and cooling water correctly, it is worth taking a closer look at the most important parameters:<br \/>\n<strong>conductivity, hardness, pH value, and salt content.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Why water quality is so crucial in technical systems<\/h2>\n<p>In heating and cooling systems, water is not a consumable medium, but a <strong>permanently circulating operating material<\/strong>.<br \/>\nEverything that is introduced into the system remains there \u2013 and continues to have an effect for years.<\/p>\n<p>Unsuitable water quality leads, among other things, to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/uws-technologie.de\/en\/what-influences-corrosion-in-heating-circuits\/\">corrosion<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/uws-technologie.de\/en\/lime-as-a-heat-barrier\/\">Lime<\/a> and sludge deposits<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/uws-technologie.de\/en\/everything-you-need-to-know-about-magnetite-separators-why-they-are-indispensable-for-modern-heating-systems\/\">Magnetite formation<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Losses in efficiency<\/li>\n<li>Premature component wear<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The good news:<br \/>\nThese effects are <strong>not a coincidence<\/strong>, but can be specifically avoided \u2013 if you understand the water parameters.<\/p>\n<h3>Conductivity \u2013 the most important indicator of risks in the system<\/h3>\n<p>Electrical conductivity describes how many dissolved ions are present in the water.<br \/>\nThe higher the conductivity, the more &#8220;active&#8221; substances are present in the system.<\/p>\n<p>In practice, this means:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>high conductivity = high corrosion potential<\/li>\n<li>low conductivity = lower electrochemical activity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Conductivity plays a key role, especially with mixed materials (e.g., steel, copper, aluminum).<br \/>\nIt is therefore one of the most important measured values in heating water analysis.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong><br \/>\nConductivity is not an in a targeted manner<\/li>\n<li>Identify risks at an early stage<\/li>\n<li>Control make-up water<\/li>\n<li>Avoid damage before it occurs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Heating water quality is not an abstract
